Top 10 Best Instant Messaging Application [Best Chatting Apps for Android]
♦ by Rohit Sep 28, 2013
Now as the title means, this post is not only viewing Applications for Android, but also for other OS platforms like iOS, Windows, BlackBerry. Now there are tons of Android Chatting (Instant Messaging) Apps on the web. Most often I get confused to use what. So I've decided to list the Best Rated ten among them
#1 WhatsApp
Whatsapp is considered as the best instant messaging application because, it has got more members around the globe that all of the others. Even though it doesn't support Video Calling or Voice Calling. The popularity makes it as the #1 for all time
#2 BBM [BlackBerry Messenger]
This application is not yet out for Android & iOS, but BlackBerry speaks that it will be the best instant messaging application ever. So we are expecting a lot from the BlackBerry and leaving this application as #2 on the list.
#3 LINE
This App, developed by Naver has a quite unstable User Interface but results say it is best for calling, and now it got a Video Call function too (from last update)
#4 WeChat
WeChat is another famous application for its voice messages. Sending and listening to Voice messages in WeChat is the best when compared to other instant messaging apps.
#5 Facebook Messenger
This one got a nice user interface with a lot of members, so probably I should have pinned this at the top. But this application consumes a lot of RAM. Now this application also has a Chat Head function which consumes more RAM. Most of the Android users don't like RAM Consuming apps
#6 Hike
Hike is only available in India. It has a cool user interface. Texting to friends is cool, voice messaging is much better than Whatsapp. Sending stickers is also included which is not found in Whatsapp. Voice Calling or Video Calling is not available, and also users are quite few in this
#7 Skype
Skype provides awesome Video Calling and Voice Calling functions, but it doesn't detect the contacts and add friends. We must add people with email manually makes it bit difficult to use.
#8 Viber
Viber is much like LINE, but consumes more RAM than LINE. the chat U.I is better than LINE but comfort in voice calls is better in LINE
#9 ChatON
It is another application from Samsung which comes inbuilt with most of the Samsung devices, but people don't use that much. I got a lot of Samsung users but I find very less no. of ChatON users.
#10 Hangouts
It is another cool app, but just like Skype we need to add a Gmail email address for contacts and guess what, it is a direct replacement for Google Talk. Also supports Video Calling
So when we conclude, it is better to have WhatsApp to have conversations and LINE for voice and video Calls. You can download all these apps for free at Google Play Store or iTunes or Windows Store
